You can buy and sell almost any item to shops setup with signs and chests. For detailed instructions on how to create shops and how they work, see ChestShop.

Buying & Selling Items

  • To Sell an item to a shop, hold the item in your inventory, but NOTHING in your HAND, then left click ("punch") the sign on the chest.
  • To Buy an item from a shop, RIGHT click on the sign selling the item.

TIP: You can hold "SHIFT" key to sell whole stacks at a time.

The Basics of Signs

Here's a rundown of what the sign means:

  • Line 1: The name of the player who created the shop.
  • Line 2: The quantity of an item bought or sold per click. (For example, "1" means ONE item is bought or sold when you click the sign, 64 means a stack of 64 per transaction.)
  • Line 3: The shop type and price per # on Line 2. So for example, if it says "S 1" it you are SELLING the item(s) to the shop for §1.00 (§="§hiney")
  • Line 4: The NAME of the item being sold, for example "Diamond".

To review. If the sign says:

KingDingbat
3
S 4
Diamond

This means that KingDingbat's shop will buy a stack of 3 diamonds from you, and give you §4.00 in §hineys each time you punch the sign.

Remember these:

  • S means the customer is SELLING to the shop. "S 3" means the customer is selling an item for §3.
  • B means the customer is BUYING from the shop. "B 3" means the customer is buying an item for §3
  • A combination of S and B means that the shop will do both buy and sell the item. "S 20:B 22" means you can SELL the shop the item for §20 or BUY from the shop for §22.

§hiney Eggs

§hiney's (the currency) can also be represented by a shimmering egg called a §hiney Egg, which can be sold at any bank to increase your account balance. §hineys Eggs are only given by admins or found in treasure, but can be traded between players if desired. They only have value to the banks. They are worth §1.00 when you sell them to the bank. See List of Banks

More Economy Info

Remember, the economy does not really apply to Creative worlds like Tofurkey Land. There's no reason for shops or currency there.

For detailed information on the economy, and how to use the commands and currencies, see A Guide to our Economy.
